Thousands have not had regular checks for possibly fatal kidney disease or foot problems, which can prevent limbs having to be amputated.

There are 153,000 plus people have been diagnosed with diabetes in Wales, most of whom have type 2 diabetes, which is usually related to being overweight .

Diabetics who have not been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes can survive for up to 10 years.

Upon being diagnosed, the condition’s serious complications, such as, heart disease, stroke, blindness and kidney disease, can have already had a huge impact.

Diabetes is a very serious condition; the sooner it is diagnosed the better for the individual as there can be serious long term complications for the diabetic .
