Fibre is also found in peas, beans and oats. Whole grain products are the optimal choice as it takes more time for the digestive system to break whole grain down. It is important for diabetics to stop eating foods which are high in both cholesterol and fats.

The diabetic diet should be composed of non-greasy and easily-digestible food with high fibre content. Fruits which are good for diabetics are apples and grapefruit as they do not have a high sugar content. Grapes, mangoes and bananas are unhealthy foods for diabetics as they have a high sugar content and can increase your glucose level in blood.
