A majority of us drink coffee and can it decrease the risk of Type 2 diabetes or slow down the aging process?

An Australian study analysed data from 500,000 people. The researchers report that those who drank three to four cups of decaffeinated coffee per day on a daily basis had a 33% less risk of Type 2 diabetes, in contrast to non-coffee drinkers. The same amount of tea decreased the likelihood of developing Type 2 diabetes by 20%.

Harvard School of Public Health analysis of 15 studies of coffee and Type 2 diabetes involved 193,000 people in the States and Europe.

He reported that individuals who drank the most coffee, four to six cups daily, had a 28% lower risk of developing Type 2 diabetes than those who drank the least coffee. There are are now over 20 studies that show drinking coffee helps to decrease the risk of Type 2 diabetes.

A Swedish study tracked insulin resistance and discovered that insulin had a more difficult time entering cells when sugar was added, but milk and cream did not effect the entry of insulin .
