Wed, 28 Apr 2010
Type 1 diabetes is on the increase amongst children .

Should current trends continue, cases of children younger than five with Type 1 diabetes could double by 2020, so says a study published in The Lancet.

The number of Type 1 diabetics is increasing by 3 percent per annum in America.

One of the key reasons for developing Type 1 diabetes is that it is genetic.

There are also factors, such as, too much exposure to sunlight, drinking cow's milk in infancy, use of chemical fertilizers on the food we eat.

All the aforementioned factors add to the underlying genetic risk of developing Type 1 diabetes.
