Living with diabetes demands strict management of lifestyle.

Put simply, insulin is necessary to break down blood sugar . The more you eat, the more insulin your body needs.

Out of the three basic food groups, proteins, fats, and carbohydrates, carbohydrates use the most insulin.

Unfortunately, for diabetics carbs, found in starches, milk, fruits and certain vegetables, are needed for a balanced diet .

Hence, diabetics count carb consumption in order to work out how much insulin it is necessary for them.

A diabetic is urged to get down to their ideal weight.

Exercise is of course crucial to that. In fact, walking and doing more vigorous exercise enhances a person's ability to control diabetes .

It is also vital to manage your diet as a diabetic.

The key is doing so safely. Eat regularly and in proper portions. Ensure you check your blood sugar pre and post exercise.
