A low-carb diet involves consuming more protein and fat in foods like cream, butter and meat and omiting bread, sugar and other high carbohydrate foods.
Those who shun carbohydrates, such as, bread and pasta are 25 per cent more likely to have clogged arteries than those on a low fat diet, so recent research in the journal Diabetes states.
Blocked arteries are a key indicator of future heart problems.
